Murphy Applauds Education Program Grant for Pitt Community College

Washington, D.C. -- Today, Rep. Greg Murphy, M.D. (NC-03) released the following statement in response to the U.S. Department of Education's announcement that Pitt Community College will be receiving a $273,572 grant under the Educational Opportunity Centers Program.

"I am so glad to see that Pitt Community College will be receiving funding for the Educational Opportunities Program," said Murphy. "This important program is a great opportunity for our students, as it is designed to increase the number of adult participants who enroll in postsecondary education institutions. As a member of the Education and Labor Committee and Ranking Member of the Higher Education and Workforce Investment Subcommittee, I am committed to ensuring that Third District students have the tools they need to succeed. I look forward to seeing how the Educational Opportunities Program will bolster the next generation of North Carolinians!"
